Kim Gleason’s Group

Filed under: JOY Center, Missions, Small Groups — Angela @ 3:44 pm

We were able to connect via SKYPE with our friend, Sue Wright (who is currently in New Zealand) during our meeting time and she provided an unsolicited affirmation of the importance of belonging together and relying on each other as she stated that one of the things she has missed most about their extended adventure is the lack of being connected with her groups of friends and organizations.

Our group decided we’d like to work with the JOY Center – Monticello and will be collecting supplies for that. I will be talking with them this week to see if anyone would be interested in a tour of the facility as well.

Our group also stared to bring some note cards to each of our sessions to send notes of cheer/encouragement etc. to people we know who may need a lift.

I think exploring the project options has helped each of us to stretch our thinking in terms of giving/helping/being aware of needs in our community.
